Q: What are the main advantages of dry-type transformers compared with oil-immersed transformers?

A: Dry-type transformers use resin insulation instead of oil. They feature fire resistance, low pollution, simple maintenance, compact structure and can be installed indoors, which is suitable for commercial buildings, data centers and high safety requirement sites.

Q: Can the winding material be copper or aluminum? What is the difference?

A: Both copper and aluminum windings are optional. Copper winding has lower resistance, less loss and better heat dissipation, with higher cost. Aluminum winding is more cost-effective and lighter, but its winding size will be larger under the same performance.

Q: What is the typical efficiency and loss level of your dry-type transformer?

A: Efficiency and losses depend on capacity and design. Normally it can meet IE2/IE3 energy standard. We will provide exact no-load loss and load loss data according to your technical specification.

Q: What test items will be carried out before delivery?

A: Routine tests include transformation ratio test, winding resistance test, insulation resistance test, induced voltage test, partial discharge test. Temperature rise test and noise test are type tests for samples.

Q: Is the secondary winding customizable for multi-group and phase-shift structure?

A: Yes. We can design multi-group secondary windings with phase shift as requested, such as 3 major groups, 6 minor groups and 10° phase shift between minor groups. Please provide your target no-load voltage.

Q: What is the insulation class of dry-type transformers?

A: Common insulation classes are F class and H class. F class allows maximum winding temperature rise of 100K; H class allows 125K. H class has better high-temperature resistance.

Q: Do you supply the metal enclosure, cooling fans and temperature control system together?

A: Yes. Enclosure (IP20 / IP30), axial cooling fans and temperature controller can be supplied as optional accessories according to customer requirements.

Q: What information do you need from buyers for quotation? A: Rated capacity, primary & secondary voltage, winding material, impedance voltage, insulation class, enclosure IP grade, special winding structure, ambient condition and applicable standard. The transformer nameplate is also helpful.

Q: What is the warranty period?

A: The standard warranty is 12 months after shipment or 18 months from factory delivery, whichever comes first. Damage caused by improper installation or operation is excluded.

Q: What standards does your dry-type transformer comply with?

A: Our dry-type transformers are manufactured in accordance with IEC 60076, also can meet GB, ANSI or other regional standards upon request.
